He is the son of two noted musicians: Moose Charlap, who wrote for the musical theater, including the Broadway version of “Peter Pan”; and the Grammy-nominated Sandy Stewart, who had a long career, beginning with Benny Goodman, and then singing on radio, recordings and television.
